Tech Field Day briefing with Primary Data. During the VMworld 2015 Conference in San Francisco there was another event, Tech Field Day Extra, which was going on at the same time during the conference. I was one of the panelist for Tech Field Day Extra and had the opportunity to be a part of the briefing from a company called Primary Data to showcase DataSphere. DataSphere is a dynamic, objectives-driven data mobility virtualization platform across different storage types and tiers.

VMworld 2012: First Thoughts and Observations
Now that VMworld 2012 is well underway I wanted to share some of my first thoughts and observations about the conference. At the start of the conference, during the first General Session, the virtual passing of the torch from the outgoing CEO, Paul Maritz to the new incoming CEO, Pat Gelsinger took place with Mr. Gelsinger getting his opportunity to say hello to a crowd of around twenty thousand people that are present at the show.

Toronto based start-up Gridcentric, is developing a technology that it refers to as Virtual Memory Streaming that has the potential to reshape the economics of VDI, and deliver the holy Grail of a VDI desktop for less than the price of a PC.
